Meghalaya Tour

"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."- Albert Einstein.

The name Meghalaya stands for the king of clouds. It is also known as Scotland of Northeast India. Meghalaya is spread over an area of about 22,500 square kilometres, and it is famous for its lush green mountains, caves, charming waterfalls, traditions and pleasant weather. Meghalaya has its renowned festival that is named Nongkrem Dance. Meghalaya is one of 8 states in northeast India. Seven states of the northeast are known as seven sisters, and the 8th one is Sikkim, the only brother to 7 sisters.

This place has a record for the world's highest rainfall. Almost all the waterfalls of Meghalaya are active, and you will get to see beautiful picturesque places everywhere, which provide you with a sense of serenity. There is a fantastic place in Meghalaya that is Mawsynram, the wettest place on earth. It has the highest rainfall every year. The locals weave a traditional rain shield out of bamboo known as knup. Most tourists come to Meghalaya by flight, bus or shared cab.

Meghalaya Tour is the ultimate way to immerse yourself in nature's beauty and reconnect with yourself, standing apart from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Shillong

To reach Meghalaya, you have to go through Shillong. The journey to Shillong involves beautiful and mesmerising views, putting you in a trance mode of travel. We suggest you take a hotel in the police bazaar. The police bazaar is considered to be the city centre of Shillong. If you are a shopping lover, you will find the most famous shopping street in Shillong. In this Police Bazaar, you will find a variety of restaurants and multiple delicious local foods.

After your excellent rendezvous with the city of Shillong, Meghalaya brings forth Cherrapunji.

On the way to Cherrapunji, you can first stop at Duwan sing syiem beautiful bridge, a wonderful tourist attraction. Tourists love this place because there is a small and beautiful picnic spot. As we tread forward, this heaven of nature allows us to peek into Dainthlen falls. This waterfall falls 80 meters deep. The place of this waterfall is full of picturesqueness in Meghalaya. After visiting the waterfalls, you can have lunch at the famous pure vegetarian orange route restaurant. It is one of my favourite restaurants here. Next along the tour are the seven sisters' waterfalls. These waterfalls are in the sequence, so they have been named seven sisters and Nohsngithiang waterfalls. Another must-visit destination on your Meghalaya itinerary should be Mawsmai caves which are 4 km away from Cherrapunji and are very close to seven sisters' waterfalls.

Mawsmai caves are full of natural limestones. The Meghalaya govt governs this cave. Double Decker Living Root Bridge and Rainbow waterfalls are among Khasi hills' most popular tourist attractions. This bridge is formed from the naturally growing roots of the trees and not only one level. This root bridge has two groups, which is why it is called Double Decker living root Bridge. This is a long trekking route. You can hire a guide for this route from the beginning. The time to visit this place is from 6 am to 5 pm. This trek and trail allow the wanderer in you to shine as you walk through a beautiful small village.

You will see a fantastic view of the bridge when you reach there. Halfway through the trekking, you will find the Ritymmen single-decker root bridge. On this trek, you can also find some little huts to grab snacks when you feel tired and hungry. If you feel exhausted during the trekking, you can enjoy the serene homestay facility on this route.

Consequently, moving forward, you will finally reach the rainbow waterfall. Lush green forests and breathtaking views surround this waterfall. This alluring rainbow fall will be your perfect spot if you are a trekking and natural beauty lover.
